RESTORING WOODEN FURNITURE

Wooden furniture deserves to be looked after, but time can take its toll. Finishes get damaged; drawers fall apart; joints crack open; parts get broken or lost – it happens.

Furniture, which may have been in a family for several generations, often comes to me in a sorry state – the degree of ‘sorry’ varying quite a lot.

My skill is re-crafting and re-building pieces, making new parts from the same wood originally used, then re-finishing them whilst maintaining the natural patina of age.

It’s surprising what can be achieved and the finished results can often bring a smile – or sometimes a tear - to the owner’s face.
