ABOUT JAMES DAWSON FURNITURE

How I work
Personal contact and service are the keys to achieving the best results with furniture commissions. Coupled with clear design lines; using sustainable, high quality English hardwoods; and traditional craftsmanship.

At the initial meeting, all the essential parameters are discussed: function, style, choice of materials and finish, timing and budget. I then provide a design sketch along with an estimate of the cost. Any changes or refinements can be incorporated at this stage. I always work very closely with clients, or their architects and designers, to ensure we are in complete agreement at every stage.

About James Dawson
After a career in international book publishing, I set up my furniture making business in 2005, having learnt the art of cabinet making many years ago. The business has grown steadily and has an expanding list of clients, many of whom return with new commissions. Most of my business comes through word-of-mouth recommendations.
